2012
»We can notice different approaches, sometimes
focused on spontaneity and responsiveness, sometimes on textures and forms like
buzzing, or on the interaction and systematic exploitation of ideas or
directions, or the differences between electronics and acoustics, as well as
their similarities. Some of the pieces are really surprising, like the amazing
duo of Andrej Fon (bagpipes and clarinet) and Ana Kravanja (violin), reminiscent
of Coltrane's monumental Om, also the extremely intense double bass duo of
Matija Schellander and Tomaž Grom, or both of the excellent compositions for
one of my favourite instruments, the hurdy gurdy played by Samo Kutin with
Marko Jenič (violin) or with Vid Drašler (drums, percussion). And there could
be many other examples; the compilation is hand-on-heart a successful one and
represents many rich, intense and creative pieces. I do recommend this very
good initiative bringing worthy and unknown instrumentalists into the
spotlight.« (Héraud
