Ana Kravanja is a painter and musician interested in a broad spectrum of musical creation. She plays numerous traditional, classical, and self-made instruments (violin, viola, ribab, qeychak, balafon, frame drums, flutes). She composes original music for theatre performances, films, animation, storytelling, poetry, dance, and visual arts.
She conceived the project Glacies, in which an octet of musicians performed on refrigerator shelves as instruments. She was part of the multimedia project Resurrection (concept by Bratko Bibič, Javorca and Ljubljana, 2016) and the larger music project led by Svetlana Spajić, Art Against the Gun: Farewell to Javorca! (Javorca, 2025).
She performs with the ensembles Širom, Kačis, and Fleet of Ylem. In duo settings she has worked and recorded with musicians such as Samo Kutin, Marko Karlovčec, Vitja Balžalorsky, Tijana Stanković, and Elisabeth Harnik, and collaborated with many other musicians and dancers.
In 2024 she released her first solo album Spaces XII / Prostori XII – Ana Kravanja, Viola, drum & voice. In collaboration with other musicians, she has released 18 albums and performed at numerous major European and domestic stages.
Martin Küchen is a Swedish musician primarily engaged in free improvisation and jazz. He plays alto, tenor, soprano, sopranino, and baritone saxophones.
His career began with busking on the streets of Sweden and across Europe in the 1980s and early 1990s, stylistically focusing on Swedish folk music and klezmer. In the mid-1990s, he turned toward free improvisation and free jazz and has since worked full-time as an internationally touring musician.
He has performed in various groups and contexts, including Fracture Mechanics, LOOPER (with Ingar Zach and Nikos Veliotis), duos with Keith Rowe, Dimitra Lazaridou-Chatzigoga, Seijiro Murayama, Chip Shop Music, and many others. He has also been a member of the Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, Fire! Orchestra, and Per Zanussi’s Research Ensemble (PZE).
He has collaborated with dancer Ryuzu Fukuhara and poets such as Ilmar Laaban, Johan Jönsson, Maria Küchen, and Bob Hansson. He has appeared on more than 60 albums. Küchen composes for Trespass Trio, Angles 9, All Inclusive, Martin Küchen & Landaeus Trio, and his latest project, The Death of Kalypso. He has frequently performed in Slovenia and collaborated with Slovenian artists such as Tomaž Grom and Samo Kutin.
About the Concert Cycle Razsrediščenja
Non-idiomatic improvisation, research, experimentation, the development of a personal musical language, and radical openness to sound form the foundation of the artistic approach of the participating musicians and the entire Razsrediščenja cycle.
The project promotes decentralization of musical events, bringing them into smaller local communities. It supports international circulation of artists and pays particular attention to economic, social, and environmental sustainability. It aims to establish a mobility model that is fair, inclusive, environmentally moderate, and sustainable in the long term for all participants.
