Zavod Sploh

It is designed as a place to integrate and connect various media within a musical event. At the production level, it provides an in-depth methodology for creating and co-creating, conceiving and contextualizing, collective creation and comprehending contemporary music. It establishes a platform for extended and more intense searching, experimentation, testing and connecting between musicians (improvisers, contemporary musicians, composers, sound artists), musicologists and other theoreticians and creators in a variety of expressive fields (video, mixed media, writers …).

The project is aimed at promoting and developing musical, sound and advanced performance procedures, principles and methods of creating and receiving artistic content and form. In this, it aims to empower the importance of the reasons that lead an artist to a public artistic act, and also for the audience to recognize the reasoning, the meaning, as well as the selection of procedures, techniques, musical language and other elements. An articulate starting point and comprehensive gestures provide the possibilities for specific artistic and broader social impact. Sluhodvod creates reflection as the starting point and goal of the creative process. It addresses the collective creative process and loosens the theoretical, institutional and technological boundaries.

Everybody lives here
an exploration of each other’s listening

Stand still for a moment. Sit down, perhaps. Look around you, listen, observe. Maybe it's loud around you, maybe quiet, maybe those notions don't add up. What do you hear? Sounds come to you from everywhere, from all directions. Below the threshold of your consciousness, a place, a place introduces itself to you. This happens as much through the sound you hear as the light you see. It is up to you to give those sounds meaning, to make connections between them. You begin to focus on one sound, and you notice that next to it there is another sound, a perhaps more interesting, more intriguing sound. A sound that passed almost below the threshold of your attention. And so you listen on, jumping from sound to sound until you have recreated a whole world for yourself.
Stijn Demeulenaere and The Third Guy duo present a project where field recordings  and musical instruments interact with the natural sonic environment of a place. Through real time interaction the performers create layers of sounds, all interacting with each other, creating a multilayered trialog, bound between time linearity, and the space.
With Everybody Lives Here we want to create a performance that explores the sound of spaces. Working with the sound of a place, adding our own sounds to it, and using them to highlight the auditory identity of the spaces we will be playing in. Through an interaction between the three performers and the audience, we want to create a sound environment that researches the sonic being of places, their acoustics, their soundscape and the listening of the audience and ourselves. The performance will be ideally suited for in situ performances, but will also work on stage, in concert halls or other buildings.
